HIP TIPS

Presentation Success:

Build it and They Will Come:

If you build it they will come. But unless your presentation is done right, they will not hear. They will not see. They will not respond.  Great speakers have several things in common and how they put together their presentations is just one piece of the puzzle. The best concentrate on remembering the following:

1. They did not come to see you. The presentation should tell the whole story.

2. Give them a reason for taking their time. Provide content that resonates, and is ensuring it’s clear what they are to do.

3. Get people to feel like they have a stake in your mission’s core principles.

4. Communicate your ideas with strong visual grammar to engage all their senses and they will adopt the ideas as their own.

5. Guide your audience through ideas in a way that helps not hinders their comprehension.

6. Appeal not only to their verbal senses, but to their visual senses as well.

7. Orchestrate the visual experience through well-known but oft-neglected design practices.

8. Do not make pretty talking points. Display complex information in a way that makes it clear and easy to adapt.

9. Build a meaning relationship between you, your presentation, and your audience by ensuring all presentation facets connect on all levels.

10. Display information in the best possible way for comprehension rather that focusing on what you need as a visual crutch.
